Hello. The late American author Kurt Vonnegut is best known for his satire of American culture and politics in novels like “Slaughterhouse-Five”, “Cat’s Cradle”, and “Sirens of Titan.”

In “Palm Sunday”, Vonnegut sets out a theory that the world’s most-loved stories can all be plotted on a graph. Vonnegut submitted this idea to the University of Chicago as part of his masters thesis, but it was rejected, “because it was so simple, and looked like too much fun.”

Vonnegut’s Story Shapes are one of our most-used tools at the studio, so this is our tiny tribute to the inventor.
